A recent survey shows that Americans want to ring in 2009 with a more organized and greener home. The survey, conducted by Mode All-In-One Recycling Centers, inquiring about the current recycling habits of American households found that 77 percent recycle, and 50 percent are recycling more than they did two years ago. And, when looking to 2009 and beyond, 69 percent are likely to recycle more.
The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 75 percent of what Americans throw away could be recycled.
“We have come a long way in our recycling habits and it is exciting to see Americans wanting to be more environmentally conscious in 2009,” said Larry Kahn, president of Mode Products. “Everyone wants to recycle, but we don’t always have the space for recyclables or the time to sort and separate recyclables. Fortunately, for 2009, there are new solutions that simplify and organize the sorting and storage of paper, plastic, glass and metal. Now it’s easier than ever to make your New Year’s resolutions green.”
