Consumer Energy Report is dedicated to providing the public with developments in the energy industry through three distinct avenues:
We subscribe to the belief that the best means for enlightenment is through the integration of all three forms of information dissemination.
Developments in the energy sector impact our daily lives as well as our future. Fossil fuels, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and conservation are issues that have significant ramifications on the economy, the environment, politics and legislation. Education about these developments, enables us to be better prepared for our future.
CER incorporates the “NODE” method for providing that education. The NODE method stands for News + Opinion + Discussion = Enlightenment. Each of these three forms carry equal import and are treated as separate divisions of CER.
The goal of CER’s news department is to enlighten the public, not to provide direction. CER provides its visitors with news from the energy sector free of political taint or agenda. We recognize that many news mediums fall victim toward displaying a particular ideology, sometimes veiled, sometimes blatant. We hope to foster discussion or even debate by reporting events and presenting competing perspectives without promoting or condemning particular developments.
CER’s talented team of writers pride themselves in publishing news on the energy industry for an audience ranging from investors and executives of large corporations to everyday consumers. Information is presented in an articulate and easy-to-understand manner. Most of us do not need to know how to build a nuclear reactor. That being said, certain basic concepts about how a nuclear reactor operates can provide enlightenment as to the advantages and disadvantages of building nuclear reactors in the future.
In providing the news, our mission is to clarify concepts and present competing perspectives from industry insiders, political figures and special interest groups.
In addition to providing the news, CER is proud to be developing associations with experts in the energy sector who have a wealth of experience and education in their respective fields.
The opinion section of CER is designed to provide greater depth to developments presented in the news. Similar to our news department, our expert analysts provide information in a manner that is comprehensible to every day consumers. Contrasted from our news department, these experts usually present an opinion supporting or condemning developments in the energy sector.
Our expert analysts do not rely on elitist presentation to support their theses. Rather than relying on their own reputations as a basis for presenting their opinions, our authors provide sources and historical perspective that support their respective beliefs.
CER is in the process of developing relationships with several noted bloggers who have extensive backgrounds in the energy markets. Ideally, we hope to present competing agendas from our analysts, so that CER becomes a forum for developments in the energy markets to be fleshed out by expert advocates with diverse opinions.
CER is in the process of updating its website to enable its viewers to weigh in with their thoughts and feelings about developments in the energy markets.
Through the forum of a message board, visitors will be able to discuss and debate their ideas and beliefs with others who consider the ever shifting landscape of the energy industry of great importance. We anticipate that conflicting political ideologies will introduce our visitors to new perspectives and opinions while creating fascinating dialogue.
The mission of CER is to educate the everyday consumer in order to bring about a more affordable energy solution.
We envision CER as a leading source of information for people interested in energy and environmental topics. As with most issues in life that need to be rectified, the first step in the process is to be informed of the relevant data surrounding the issue. CER provides that first step.
